Zurich, 11 January 2019

The very first Lean In Conference in Switzerland will take place on 25th of January 2019 in Zurich. The full-day event under the theme “Dream. Dare. Do.” aims to inspire women in Switzerland to fulfill their professional aspirations, follow their passions and build a strong support network. In doing so, together we create a more inclusive and diverse society.

The “Dream. Dare. Do” Conference is organised by the Swiss Lean In Network, which is part of Sheryl Sandberg’s global Lean In movement. It will provide participating women and men with a unique experience, ensuring that they leave the event inspired to realize their full potential. It will NOT be like any other business conference! Mission statement: Dream. Dare. Do.

The event will feature six inspiring female leaders from a diverse range of backgrounds. From IKEA Switzerland’s CEO Simona Scarpaleggia, well known for her work in the area of women empowerment, UBS executive & book author Mara Harvey, CNN’s Money anchor Ana Maria Montero to Anne-Flore Marxer, a snowboarding world champion and filmmaker, Yvonne Bettkober, a technology advocate and Board Member at Microsoft and Ruvarashe Chinyemba, a sustainability expert, all will share their personal stories. Furthermore, there will be self-development workshops for the attendants, a panel discussion, an art exhibition on female leadership, a break-out yoga session, musical intermezzos and other exciting happenings throughout the day to get everyone inspired and energised. A closing Apéro will allow participants to network and contemplate their freshly gained ideas and inspiration.

Following the thought that “seeing is believing”, the Lean In Switzerland Network is a community of Swiss Lean In Circles, in which ambitious women inspire and help each other grow, and prove that anything is possible. We aim to equip each other with tools necessary to succeed in all areas of our lives, may it be by learning how to negotiate our worth, how to handle crucial conversations, how to take care of ourselves or by mentoring each other. We focus on self development, so we can realize our full potential. The Lean In Switzerland is the first full day event organized by volunteers from inside the Circles and outside. From Circles like the Lean In Latinas, Lean In at Fossil, Supermoms, Women in Finance, to Women Entrepreneurs and Building Bridges Circles, interests vary among its members. With more than 20 Circles and over 1100 members, the Swiss Lean In movement is growing rapidly!

On January 25th however, they will all come together to Dream. Dare. Do. The Lean In Switzerland Network is a part of the worldwide Lean In movement to support women in achieving their ambitions and living their passions.

Following the success of the book ‘Lean In’ by the COO of Facebook Sheryl Sandberg, the Lean In Organisation was founded in 2013 to promote equality between men and women in the workplace and in the society in general. Today, there are more than 41,000 circles in over 172 countries.
